*1
, and the Easy-to-Clean WN Series
GENERAL Inc. will release two series of Gokudan nocria—air conditioners with enhanced heating capabilities for the Japanese market—on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The lineup includes the high-end ZN Series and the WN Series with improved ease of cleaning. All models in both series meet or exceed the energy efficiency standard set to take effect in 2027 *2 . Gokudan nocria is a line of heating-enhanced air conditioners designed specifically for use in cold regions, capable of warming rooms sufficiently even in severe cold.
ZN Series: No. 1 heating capacity for extreme cold *1
The ZN Series is a high-end model designed to deliver the high heating performance and comfort required in cold climates. It boasts the no. 1 heating capacity among models for 13 to 16 m² (10 tatami mats) rooms *1 . The series is equipped with features that help maintain warmth throughout the room: “Comfort airflow” automatically adjusts fan speed and airflow direction based on indoor conditions, and “Assist Flap” reduces upward airflow to keep your feet warm.
WN Series: Easy to clean with industry-first removable airflow path panels *3
The newly added WN Series combines excellent heating performance for cold climates with hygiene features for customers who want to clean the air conditioners by themselves. The series allows the removal of the left/right and up/down air outlet louvers, where dust and dirt tend to accumulate. The airflow path panels can also be removed and washed with water.
Special outdoor units designed for use in cold climates
The heating operation of Gokudan nocria outdoor units can continue even when the outdoor temperature drops to -25°C *4 . An anti-freeze heater prevents the freezing of drain water during defrosting *5 , and a steel wire fan guard prevents snow buildup and intrusion around the air outlet, ensuring reliable heating operation even in extreme cold. Furthermore, these special outdoor units can withstand damage from rust, salt air, and de-icing agents, so they can be used in the harsh environments of cold regions.
GENERAL will continue to develop products that meet a wide range of needs, including heating performance, energy efficiency, and ease of cleaning. Through offering products that customers can choose to suit their lifestyles, we will contribute to creating comfortable living spaces even in harsh climates.
